Atmospheric C02 Levels: Who cares?

Apparently, everybody cares but why? Carbon dioxide is only 0.03% of our atmosphere. So what if it doubles? There simply is not enough C02 in the atmosphere to make any difference whatsoever. C02 is not a greenhouse gas; water vapor is, though, but nobody mentions that. The atmosphere is made up of 78% Nitrogen, 20% Oxygen, 0.93% Argon and then everything else falls into the remaining 0.07%. However, the media and the global warming alarmists would have you think that we’re being suffocated in C02. Actually, it would be nice to have some more CO2. Plants would love it and our farms could produce more food.

It is true that we contribute to an increase of CO2 and that’s why the global warming alarmists picked up on it. They could show that C02 goes up and the temperature goes up all at the same time and use that as proof of man-made global warming. Now that they realize that we are going through a global cooling phase, they are now saying that global warming can cause global cooling. It is pretty shocking to me that the economies of the world can be influenced by such nonsense. It is much like the days of Galileo. He believed the Earth orbited the Sun and yet everybody else believed the Sun orbited the Earth. Because he said otherwise, he was imprisoned for heresy. It is much the same way today. Scientists are afraid to speak out, responsible media refuses to discuss it, and politicians know they will not get re-elected if they say man-made global warming is a farce. So, it continues to be the belief of the day and the religion of science will come to save us.

Science should be an open forum to discuss ideas and welcome debate of current understanding. When it comes to global warming, it no longer is about science but about politics and religion. Too bad. When Manhattan is under a mile of ice, maybe the global warming alarmists will be run out of town on rails. I will keep my fingers crossed.
